At present the internet users in India are

Capital City: New Delhi - GNI p.c.US$ 620 ('04), per World Bank
60,000,000 Internet users as of Sept/07, 5.2% penetration, per ITU.
3,130,000 broadband Internet connections as of Mar.31/08, per TRAI
The maximum user are in Mumbai about 3.24 million in which active users are about 2.6 million. In second place Delhi having users of about 2.66 million and active users are about 1.80 million.
In India, we will have 300 million mobile users by 2008. It a huge number of people and a bulk of them will have GPRS and multimedia enabled phones. In the future, I see the mobile being a much bigger touch point than the PC.
